This year, the Central Government has fixed the minimum support price (MSP) of common paddy at Rs 2183 per quintal and the support price (MSP) of Grade-A paddy at Rs 2203. In this context, the Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh has approved the paddy purchasing policy under the price support scheme in the Kharif marketing year 2023–24. According to the procurement policy, procurement of paddy in some districts of the state will start from October 1 and in the remaining districts from November 1, 2023. Registration for this has also been started.
Paddy procurement will start from October 1
In the Kharif marketing year 2023-24, the period of paddy procurement in Hardoi, Lakhimpur-Kheeri, Sitapur districts of Lucknow division and Bareilly, Moradabad, Meerut, Saharanpur, Agra, Aligarh, Jhansi divisions has been fixed from October 1, 2023 to January 31, 2024. Has been.
Whereas in Lucknow division districts Lucknow, Rae Bareli, Unnao and divisions Chitrakoot, Kanpur, Ayodhya, Devipatan, Basti, Gorakhpur, Azamgarh, Varanasi, Mirzapur and Prayagraj, paddy will be procured from November 1, 2023 to February 29, 2024.
Paddy will be procured at 4000 centers
This year in Uttar Pradesh, Food Department, PCF, PCU. Mandi Parishad, U.P.S.S. Procurement will be done through a total of 06 purchasing agencies including Food Corporation of India. For this, the government has set a target of purchasing 70 lakh metric tonnes of paddy through 4000 purchasing centres. Whereas the price of paddy is paid by all the purchasing agencies as per the PFMS of the Government of India. Paddy purchase will be done through the portal within 48 hours.
The government has fixed the timing of the purchasing center from 09 am to 05 pm. Except Sundays and gazetted holidays, purchasing centers will remain open on remaining working days. According to local conditions, the District Magistrate will be able to make necessary changes in the opening and closing time of the purchasing centre. For the purchase of paddy for the procurement marketing year 2023-24, Farmers Producer Organization (FPO) and Farmers Producer Company (FPC) have been given permission to do the procurement work by being affiliated with the Mandi Parishad, Uttar Pradesh.
Farmers will have to get biometric authentication done
Like every year, this year too farmers will have to register online to sell paddy at the minimum support price (MSP). The government has made it mandatory for farmer registration before selling paddy and the process of purchasing paddy online at all purchasing agencies. Apart from this, in the Kharif marketing year 2023-24, paddy will be purchased at the purchasing centers through biometric authentication of farmers through electronic point of purchase machines.
Keeping in mind the interest of the farmers under the paddy procurement year 2023-24, arrangements have been made to take only one form either the farmer’s declaration form or the hybrid seed purchase certificate for the sale of hybrid paddy. Paddy purchase from farmers will be done on the basis of computerized verified Khatauni and Aadhaar card. The area sown by farmers will be verified through revenue records.
Farmers should register here to sell paddy at support price
Farmers of the state who want to sell paddy at the minimum support price (MSP) will have to first register online for this. Farmers can register themselves on the website of Food and Logistics Department. fcs.up.gov.in But can get it done. Farmers can do this registration with the help of their Aadhar card number. During registration, farmers will have to fill land details along with khatauni/account number, plot/khasra number, area of land (in hectares) and area of crop (paddy/other) (in hectares).
